Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Since winning the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music Award in 1989, the Peabody Trio has established itself as one of the leading piano trios in the world. Equally committed to the classics of the repertoire and to important new works, they bring to their music making what The Washington Post calls “the romantic fervor of the 20th century greats.” The Peabody Trio celebrated its twentieth season in 2007-08 with the release of the Beethoven Trios Opus 1, Nos. 1 and 3 on Artek Records, the second in their series of the complete piano trios of Beethoven.
“The performance is bold, flexible and vibrant.” Donald Rosenberg, Gramophone Magazine

Now in its 38th year, the Prazak Quartet is considered one of chamber music’s preeminent ensembles. Formed while the members were students at the Prague Conservatory, the Prazak proudly upholds the Czech quartet tradition. ESCHER STRING QUARTET "MORE"
Monday, December 6, 2010

Since its formation in 2005, the Escher String Quartet has gained a reputation as a world-class string quartet and attracted the attention of several esteemed artists, who immediately admired the young ensemble's individual sound, inspired artistic decisions and unique cohesiveness. Within months of its inception, the Escher was invited by both Pinchas Zukerman and Itzhak Perlman to be the quartet-in-residence at each artist's summer festival: The Young Artists Programme at Canada's National Arts Centre and The Perlman Chamber Music Program on Shelter Island, NY.
“The individual and sometimes concertolike playing of the four young musicians was notable for its polish and tonal beauty.”  VIVIAN SCHWEITZER, THE NEW YORK TIMES

WEILERSTEIN PIANO TRIO
Monday, January 17, 2011

The highly acclaimed Weilerstein Trio, the trio-in-residence at the New England Conservatory of Music, is one of the most dynamic and electric piano trios on the concert stage today. Since their first public concert at the Round Top Festival Institute when cellist Alisa was six years old, the Trio has gained a wide following among diverse audiences. Their 2006 CD for Koch Records featuring trios of Dvořák has received rave reviews in both Strings and Fanfare magazines and was featured on NPR's "All Things Considered."
“The three played with intimate knowledge and consummate expression, almost as if the complex, heart-rending work had been written for them.”
LOS ANGELES TIMES

Awarded a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2009, he has performed as a soloist throughout the United States, Central America, Europe, and Asia. IL GIARDINO ARMONICO
Monday, February 28, 2011

Il Giardino Armonico, winner of a 2001 Grammy Award for its Vivaldi Album with Cecilia Bartoli, was founded in Milan in 1985. The ensemble brings together a number of graduates from some of Europe’s leading colleges of music, all of whom have specialized in playing on period instruments. The ensemble’s repertory is concentrated in the main on the 17th and 18th centuries and, depending on the demands of each program, the group will consist of anything from 3 to 30 musicians.

SIMONE DINNERSTEIN, piano
Monday, April 4, 2011

American pianist Simone Dinnerstein has been gaining international attention since making a triumphant New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in 2005 where she performed Bach's Goldberg Variations. A debut solo CD of the Variations on Telarc earned the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Classical Chart during its first week of sales. In addition to appearing on many “Best of 2007” lists, the disc received the prestigious Diapason d’Or Award in France in September 2008.
"Dinnerstein is a throwback to such high priestesses of music as Wanda Landowska and Myra Hess… [She] is touring. Go hear her, and get religion. And if you can't, there's always the record." Slate.com
